Candace Bridal Shoot

On August 10th, I had the priveledge to shoot a bridal portrait session with Candace. She wanted to shoot somewhere urban and untradtional, so we decided to do the shoot at the Mount Holly Citizen's Center. I'm glad to report that she loved the portraits! The wedding will be on Sept 22nd, so be on the lookout for the gallery sometime soon there after! Here's a favorite from the bridal portrait session. Candace

30th High School Reunion

August 11th was my 30th high school reunion from Independence HS. Our reunion was held at the Marriott in Charlotte, NC. And, I was hired as the official photographer for the evening. Food, entertainment, old friends AND I got paid for attending. How cool is that? Well, the gallery is private, but I can at least share a picture of me and my wife. It was a great opportunity to practice shooting in lighting conditions similar to most wedding receptions, and my new Canon 24x70 lens didn't disappoint!

Steve and Shania's Wedding

I was recently hired to cover the wedding of Steve and Shania.

It was a small wedding, held at their home in NW Charlotte.
I was fortunate to have my friend Maggie assist as my 2nd shooter.
This is a practice I'm going to try to follow for as many of my
weddings as I can. To get more good shots, and as a bit of
insurance to make sure we get all the important shots that can't
be replicated.

I'm glad to report Steve and Shania loved the results!

10 Day old Samuel

Whenever someone I know has a baby, I always want to do a photo session with the new baby. When my neighbors had their new son, I was excited to have them ask me to take newborn portraits of their son Samuel. And though the gallery is private, they did let me share a picture for my blog.

Four Generations Family Shoot!

Some photography opportunities don't always work out like you think, at least right away. I was hired to shoot a "Mom and Sons Date Night" this summer at a local Chick-Fil-A. I sold a few prints, but nothing to big. Nice experience, and I met lots of terrific folks.

One family in particular liked the shot we took of their family, and wanted to get together during the Thanksgiving holiday to do a studio family shoot. Which is exactly the kind of lead I was hoping to get by working the Mom and Son Date Night.

We had a great studio shoot the day after Thanksgiving. Keep working at the things you love to do and good things will come of it!

Fall Family Shoots

This fall I had a few families contact me for family portrait sessions to take advantage of the cool weather and the changing fall scenery. I had just
scoped out two new locations near by that I was eager to try out. I'm glad to
report that both shoots went great!

Here are a couple of my favorites from those shoots.

Yes, I shoot soccer games!

I haven't had a lot of paid sports shoots, so I was very excited to be asked to cover a girls soccer game on a recent Saturday afternoon. While I focused on one player in particular, I ended up getting a lot of great shots of many of the players.

I just love digital; I ended up shooting nearly 900 images!! It was great going through them all to find the gems.

Here's one of my favorites from that day.
